Pitra Paksha 2025: A Message from Acharya Raj Mishra

Dear Devotees,

Pitra Paksha is not only a sacred fortnight but also a unique opportunity for every family to honor and appease their ancestors. As we prepare for Pitra Paksha 2025, which will begin on 8th September and conclude with Amavasya on 21st September, I wish to guide you on the importance, correct timing, and precise methods for performing Shraddh this year.

Why Is Shraddh So Important?

From the depths of our scriptures, including the Ramcharitmanas and Vedas, it is evident that Pitra Poojan (ancestors' worship) is a pillar of Sanatan Dharma. Even Lord Rama, before any auspicious work, performed rituals in memory of his ancestors. Pitra Poojan can remove obstacles, bring peace to your household, and ensure the blessings of your departed ones. Remember, true prosperity and harmony flow from satisfied ancestors.

Sacred Timings and Rituals

For maximum spiritual benefit, Shraddh must be performed during the Kutap Kala, starting at precisely 11:36 am and ending by 12:24 pm on the allotted day. This time window pleases our forefathers the most and connects us to their blessings.

As you perform the rites, use traditional items: copper or silver vessels (avoid iron at all costs), sit on a woolen seat, and include essentials like sesame seeds, barley, cow's milk, white flowers, white sandalwood, and kusha grass. If possible, having a daughter's son or daughter present multiplies the ritual's benefits. Always orient yourself properly: face east for Dev Tarpan, north for Rishi Tarpan, and south for Pitru Tarpan.

My Commitment for Pitra Paksha 2025

This year, special Pitra Shanti Yajnas and Pitra Dosh Nivaran Yagyas will be organized in Kashi, Haridwar, and Delhi for your benefit. For those belonging to the Kumbh Rashi, unique recitations of the 18,000 shlokas of the Bhagwat will be performed by expert Vedic Brahmins. Every participant’s rituals will be supervised to ensure strict adherence to Shastra.

Due to the sacredness and purity required, entry will be limited, and early registration is advised. A select group will be given full attention, whether joining at the venue or connecting online, to ensure the rituals’ sanctity and effectiveness.

Ensuring Peace and Liberation for Ancestors

Pitra Paksha is more than ritual—it's about dissolving Pitra Dosh, bringing tranquility, and removing the malefic effects of ancestral debts and misfortunes. This period is when our prayers reach our ancestors directly, granting them contentment and freeing us from generational burdens.

Final Appeal: Participate with Faith

I urge every family to take part in Shraddh with utmost devotion and follow these guidelines sincerely. Do not treat this as mere tradition; do it with a true spiritual resolve for your family’s benefit and the liberation of your ancestors. For any questions or to register, please contact me in advance, and let us together make this Pitra Paksha 2025 a source of blessings for generations to come.

Jai Shree Ram!
