Guru (Jupiter) is the most benefic of all nine planets — the great teacher, the planet of wisdom, dharma, higher education, children, marriage, spiritual growth, and divine grace. Jupiter's blessings counter the malefic effects of other planets when it is strong and well-placed. When Jupiter is debilitated (Capricorn), afflicted by Rahu forming Chandal Dosh, or poorly placed, it creates poor moral judgement, attraction to shortcuts, difficulties conceiving children, delayed marriage, blocked spiritual progress, and persistent academic or professional setbacks.
