Maha Mrityunjay Jaap
The Maha Mrityunjay Mantra — Om Tryambakam Yajamahe Sugandhim Pushtivardhanam, Urvarukamiva Bandhanan Mrityor Mukshiya Mamritat — is one of the most ancient and powerful mantras in the Vedic tradition, found in both the Rigveda and the Yajurveda. Dedicated to Lord Shiva in his aspect as the conqueror of death, this mantra is chanted as a shield against illness, untimely death, accidents, and the fear of mortality, while simultaneously invoking healing, longevity, and the grace of liberation (moksha).
The Maha Mrityunjay Jaap involves the repetitive chanting of this mantra in a dedicated ceremonial setting — typically 1,25,000 times (sava lakh) for the full Anusthan, though shorter programmes of 11,000 or 51,000 repetitions are also effective for specific purposes. The number of priests and duration of the programme are scaled to the number of repetitions requested.
This puja is recommended for those recovering from serious illness, undergoing surgery or chemotherapy, facing persistent health deterioration, or in situations where medical prognosis is poor. It is also performed for the protection of family members in high-risk professions, for vehicle safety after accidents, and for those going through a malefic Saturn or Mars period that is severely affecting health.
Because the scope — number of repetitions, number of priests, duration — varies significantly by case, we handle this through enquiry to provide an accurate programme and quote.
